December Meeting Notes

Well, ladies, I hope you are doing well this fine Monday morning.
Last week's meeting was so much fun! For all of you who brought food
for our Christmas brunch, it was amazing (even if somehow the bacon
was missing!)! Everything was delicious and I don't think anyone went
hungry. Genie Gore's devotional also helped feed our soul, too. What
a timely reminder that we need to rely on Jesus Christ and live in the
Present. Christ alone can heal the past and give hope for tomorrow!

From the looks of it, I think everyone enjoyed the craft, too. I
think about 2/3rds of the moms there jumped up and down on one leg to
slosh their paint around inside the ornament like Joy recommended.
Who knew you'd get exercise after eating such an amazing breakfast!
If you are like me, you have probably noticed that your ornaments
continue to change some depending on how they hang or sit. You can
remove the top from the ornament and keep it upside down a bit to let
the excess paint drain out.

Just a few reminders regarding the meeting and events this month!

Tomorrow is Mom's Night Out @ Tuesdies Salon from 6-9pm

If you want to attend the Crossroads Christmas musical, When Love Came
Down, visit the Crossroads website and register for free tickets.
There are several showings this coming weekend. You can find out more
here: http://www.crossroads-summerville.org/index.php/online-registrations.

Also, the Worship Ministry of Old Fort Baptist Church is having their
Christmas musical this Sunday at 3 & 6 pm. You can call their church
office at 843-873-2283 for free tickets. It is called My Heart for
Christmas.

Summerville Baptist's 20th Anniversary Lowcountry Singing Christmas
Tree is presenting One Amazing Night this weekend. Tickets are $7.00
per person. Visit http://www.summervillebaptist.org/lcsct for more
information.

Thanks so much to Kady Payne for helping us all be more aware of what
Samaritans Purse and Operation Christmas Child do to help those that
are needy around the world. There are so many ways you can help -
small donations that add up if we all consider giving - Hot Meals,
Literacy, helping with medical needs, evangelism, clothing, clean
water, and more. If you don't think a small donation of a even a
$1.00 or $5.00 can help, just remember that Jesus took 5 loaves and 2
fish and fed five thousand! You can find out all the different ways
to help by visiting
https://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/Giving/gift_catalog/.

There will be NO Bible Study on Thursday with Genie Gore this month of December.

And finally, the Family Fun Night on the 18th starts at 6pm. A time
was not placed in the newsletter by accident. Bring a side dish to
share with everyone, and we'll look forward to a great time!

If there is anything you need this month, please let us know! Enjoy
getting ready for Christmas with your family and we'll see you on
January 7th for our first meeting of 2010!

Playdate Change for June 11

We've run into a small problem with this week's play date at Myer's
Farm. Their blueberry crop has been delayed and won't be ready for
another couple weeks.

So, we've had to cancel the plans for blueberry picking. We are hoping
to reschedule this soon, but for right now, we won't be picking any
blueberries this week. :-(

Instead, we're going to all meet at Wannamaker Park @ 10am at the
Sprinklers. That of course is always fun and the kids should have a
great time. :-)

We hope you understand, and we're looking forward to seeing you all at
Wannamaker Park this week.

MOPPETS Need Toys/Books

MOPPETS has a need, and you can help! We could really use some additional small toys and books for the children to play with in their classrooms. Most of us probably have some toys and books lying around the house that our kids don't use anymore. If so, how about donating them to MOPPETS? We specifically need toys that are plastic and easily cleaned as well as small enough to fit inside a large Rubbermaid container. We cannot use toys or books that are stuffed or made from cloth. There will be a large box at the May meeting for you to place donations in. Thanks so much for supporting MOPPETS!!!
